Truly the easiest and healthiest baby food. Ever.
I became a first time mom a year ago. I want to share a homemade baby food puree you can prepare in literally two minutes! The convenience of this puree matches the convenience of rice cereal. I realize that many of my readers may be past the "littles" phase. That being said, the tips I'm going to share in this article can and should be utilized by grandparents! Also share this information with young parents that you know! This baby food takes two steps to prepare: powder and add liquid There are so many options when deciding on how to feed your baby purees. Typically people do one of two things: buy canned baby food from the store or prepare their own by steaming fruits and vegetables and freezing future meals. I decided fairly early on that I didn't have the time, money, or energy to pursue either of these options. My new method is even more nutritious for my baby and takes a fraction of the time.
Before I get into the how to's I just want to briefly say that it is a pet peeve of mine when producers prey on protective and uncertain new moms. I personally feel that there are a lot of ways to raise a happy healthy baby. If you have found a system that works for you, great! If not, maybe you'll check out Thrive Life freeze-dried food. Either way, you're doing great things mom (and grandma)!
2-Step Baby Food Instructions
Step 1: Powder Freeze-Dried Product
Powder the product however you'd like -- a food processor, mortar and pestle, or my preferred method, a good old fashioned Ziploc bag and rolling pin.
I have powdered just about everything: freeze-dried chicken, broccoli, butternut squash, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, kale, green beans, corn, bananas and pineapple just to name a few. What sets Thrive Life freeze-dried products apart from others is that their contents have zero additives, including salt and sugar. There are a handful of items that have been seasoned/salted before packaging, but you can easily see that on the ingredient list. It also makes it so much easier that the meats are already cooked so that I don't have to worry about cooking them myself when preparing food for my baby.
Step 2: Add Liquid
You can add water or breast milk to your powdered mixture. I have done both! Sometimes my baby likes her purees warm and so it's easy enough to add hot water. Most of the time however I just add breast milk that I pumped the day before.
Further Notes
It's always a great idea to check with your pediatrician before starting solid foods, so ask about freeze dried food for your baby. My pediatrician counseled me to let my baby try any and all foods except for honey and cow's milk. I took that as a green light to pursue Thrive Live, and I am so glad that I did! I strongly recommend trying it out!
I also want to note that I commonly mix a lot of different Thrive Life products together. My baby, for example, HATES peas (like seriously, she starts crying uncontrollably every time I try), but I just mix the powdered peas with powdered kale and she will eat her weight's worth. Sometimes, I add my powdered mixture to rice cereal. Another popular meal that my baby loves is a variety of powdered vegetables mixed with some of Thrive Life's Instant Mashed Potatoes. Check it out, I promise it will save you time and money and you will not regret it!
