How To Use Thrive Bouillon

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

I love Thrive Life’s Vegetarian Chicken and Beef Bouillon. I think I honestly use it almost daily.

What is Thrive Life bouillon and how do I use it?

I know you have all tried to cook with the gooey sticky mess of bouillon that you get from the store. What a pain! Thrive bouillon is in a powder form, so there is no sticky mess while trying to measure it and getting it into your pans. It’s so easy to use, I use it for everything from gravies to Hawaiian haystacks to soups. You simply add 1 tsp. of bouillon to a cup of water, let it dissolve and then you're done. It has such a nice flavor too. Nothing too strong so it won't overpower your dish but it gives such a clear flavor. I use this to replace vegetable or chicken broth in recipes as well -- the convenience of it is a dream.

Plant-based Gravy

Today I’m going to share my plant-based gravy recipe using the Thrive Life vegetarian chicken bouillon. It’s simple and fast. And by fast, I mean like start to finish in 10 minutes, and it’s delicious. Our family loves to use this in so many meals. We of course use it with mashed potatoes but it is very versatile and I use it in pot pies, casseroles and many other dishes as well. Just this week we had mashed potatoes and gravy and then a few days later I used the left-over gravy to make tinfoil dinners. Mmmm...so good!

Yes, it can be made Gluten Free!

Another awesome thing about this gravy is that it is very easily turned gluten free. The Thrive vegetarian chicken bouillon is naturally gluten free, so you just need to replace the flour used for thickening with gluten free flour.

So, what is plant-based gravy made of?

I love this simple list.

-Water

-Thrive vegetarian chicken or beef bouillon

-Plant-based butter

-Flour (all purpose or gluten free)

-Poultry Seasoning

-Lemon Pepper

But does it really taste like the gravy we all crave smothering our mashed potatoes or veggies during the holidays?

It does! This gravy is delicious! It’s silky smooth and has the same old taste of gravy we all grew up on. We have used this gravy many times in different recipes and people that don’t eat plant based don’t even know its plant based. Our 4 little kids can’t get enough of it. They all love to dip and swipe their food in this tasty gravy.
