2 Ingredient Mug Brownie Recipe

Updated: Apr 6, 2023

These brownies will bring out the chocolate addict inside you -- you could find yourself microwaving chocolaty batter late into the night (well after the kids have gone to bed).

With only two ingredients needed, it's a stretch to call this a "recipe". If instant chocolate gratification is your thing, this brownie mix is for you -- especially if you're the type of person whose answer is always chocolate. I'm excited to share it with you!

Ingredient #1: Thrive Life Fudge Brownie Mix

This Thrive Life fudge brownie mix is extremely versatile, and can be enjoyed as a powder, batter, or brownies. Sometimes, I just go straight for a spoonful of the powder like a heathen. My dad jokingly calls this method 'taking his medicine'. Another method, and probably my favorite, is by just adding water and taking small spoonfuls of batter. The mix doesn't use raw eggs, so no worries there! If you're more patient than myself however, cooking up some brownies in a pan or mug is quick and easy, too.

Ingredient #2: Water or Milk

In the instructions found on the can, it calls for only water to complete the recipe. This sets Thrive Life fudge brownies apart from others, as most mixes require additional ingredients such as eggs and vegetable oil. I used water to make my mug brownie, but you couldn't go wrong if you decided to use milk instead. Truly the most convenient of all brownie mixes.

To top off this recipe I also added almonds, walnuts, and chocolate chips. Because can a brownie even be called a brownie without nuts?

This brownie mix is so popular that it often goes out of stock on the website -- but they also offer different blends such as country white bread dough or classic cookie dough that you might want to check out! Give these brownies a try! You won't regret it! If you made this "recipe" I'd love to hear about it in the comments!
